    Memories by Vance Blalock Jr.

Vance Jr. remembers growing up in the "Old Miller House" which was off highway 16. The house had a living area (also Vance & Edna's sleeping area), a bedroom for the girls, and a bedroom for the boys. Vance Sr. added a kitchen area to the house. Next to the kitchen, a sheet separated the toilet area (a bucket!). The outhouse and bathtub were in a separate building.

In the early 60s, the family moved to the cinder block house on 140. This was the first time they had indoor plumbing!
